We’re delighted to announce that Emily Mayo has successfully completed her probation period and officially begins the next stage of her journey at Angel Business Communications.
Emily joined Angel earlier this year as an Events and Publishing Assistant and has quickly become an important part of the marketing and events team during an especially busy period for the business.
Over the past three months, Emily has supported a wide range of projects across Angel’s events and publishing portfolio, including AngelTech, the DCS Awards, the Managed Services Summit, and multiple magazine publications. During this period, she also stepped up at a time of change within the marketing and events team, helping provide stability and additional support following staffing changes.
Emily has shown a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to take on increasing responsibility. In particular, she has helped support the operational and administration side of the Managed Services Summit portfolio, while also assisting with wider marketing and publishing activity across the business.
Her positive attitude, reliability and willingness to get stuck in have made her a valued member of the team, and as a reflection of her progress over the past few months, her role has now developed into Marketing and Event Administration Executive.
"Emily has made a really strong start at Angel during what has been a particularly busy and challenging period for the team. With a few unexpected changes internally, Emily stepped up quickly and took on additional responsibility, particularly around the MSS portfolio and wider marketing administration. Becky has said she would have struggled without Emily’s support, which says a lot in such a short space of time. We’re delighted with her progress so far and look forward to seeing her continue to grow within the business."

We asked Emily to reflect on her first few months at Angel:
Q: What’s been your favourite project or event to work on so far, and why?
A: My favourite event to work on so far has been AngelTech, especially because I had the opportunity to support the event and attend it in person. It was really interesting to see how much planning and coordination goes into making an event successful, and attending gave me a better understanding of the impact these events have. It was a great learning experience and made me even more interested in the events side of the role.
Q: What have you enjoyed most about working within the marketing and events team at Angel?
A: The thing I’ve enjoyed most has definitely been the people. Everyone has been really supportive and approachable, which made settling into the role much easier. The team environment has helped me learn quickly, ask questions and build confidence in taking on new responsibilities.
Q: What’s one thing you feel you’ve improved or gained confidence in during your first three months?
A: During my first three months, I’ve gained confidence in event coordination and managing the preparation involved behind the scenes. I’ve become more comfortable organising tasks, keeping track of multiple moving parts and supporting the planning process. I feel much more confident taking ownership of responsibilities and contributing to upcoming events.
Congratulations Emily on a brilliant first few months. We’re delighted to have you as part of the team and excited to see your continued growth across the business.
Please join us in congratulating Emily on completing her probation and reaching this important milestone at Angel.
